RAG Adventure Leaders are entrepreneurial self-starters who know how to use their initiative to get the job done in a result-orientated role that is well rewarded with the opportunity to travel. They are prepared to work within the structures of their University Rag organisation as part of the team for the benefit of RAG and the charities they support.
Introduction
Student Adventures recognises the desire in young people to
experience the world, challenge themselves beyond natural comfort zones and make a difference to
the community around them. Student Adventures is pleased to be able to meet all these needs by
offering tailor made charity adventure challenges throughout Europe and around the world that
enable our clients to have truly 'once in a lifetime' experiences as they take in visually
stunning surroundings and experience cultures of the world up close on a variety of adventures.
Job Purpose
Adventure Leaders are the first point of contact for students who
undertake the journey of taking part in an Adventure. Adventure Leaders principal role will be
to market and recruit students to participate in our adventures. Following on from this initial
recruitment phase the AL will provide customer support in the lead up to the adventure and then
out in the field on an adventure.
Responsibilities
The role and responsibilities of an Adventure Leader includes:
- Attend SWAT School for training & development to help prepare you for the role
- Strong understanding of Student Adventures, their products and sales training
- Promoting and publicising an incredible opportunity for students to sign up to an adventure making use of
- Printed marketing materials
- Social network marketing
- Face-to-face recruitment
- Recruitment events
- Plan, organise, book and present at information and registration evenings on campus
- Attendance at University fairs and bazaars to promote and sell the opportunity
- Provide regular reports to the Events Director of progress and work to date
- On-going customer support of students prior to adventure departure
- Support clients whilst on an adventure to ensure an unforgettable and great experience
Re-numeration
The role is results-orientated and Adventure Leaders will be well rewarded for their work:
- Adventure Leader place on an adventure when 20 participants are recruited
- RAG receives a recruitment grant for every person recruited onto the adventure(s)
Notes
- The role reports to the Events Director
- RAG Adventure Leaders will benefit from being able to promote the adventures through the RAG and Student Union communication channels and will be seen as a volunteer who is a part of the student structure at their Student Union
- Seriously Wicked Adventure Training (SWAT) School is a residential training weekend to enable you to gain product knowledge and the skills you will need to succeed in the role.
